CHIPPING Norton Town bounced back from last week’s heavy defeat to Hanborough with a 4-2 win over Witney Royals in the Witney & District FA Premier Division, writes HARRY ROSE.

Dan Nimmo, Josh Hunt, Dan Bott and Rhys Warner-Carter all struck as Chippy put their 10-0 mauling at the hands of the title-chasers behind them.

Liam Redhead and James O’Sullivan scored for Royals.

Charlbury Town went five points clear at the top with a narrow 1-0 win at Spartan Rangers, courtesy of a Dom Crisp strike.

Jonny Dover and Dan Chillington scored twice each to help Carterton Rangers to a comfortable 6-2 win at Bampton United in Division 1.

Jamie MacDonogh and Dan Hall also scored for Rangers, with Jake Pritchard and Connor O’Shea responding.

Milton were subjected to a heavy 7-0 defeat away to Stonesfield, courtesy of a brace apiece from Paul Penney and Ed Gilkes and goals from Lewis Colwell, Matt Read and Ryan Hunt.

Mark Threllfall struck the only goal of the game to give FC Hollybush a 1-0 home win over Chadlington.

A magnificent four-timer from Kieren Watts helped Spartan Rangers Res to a 6-1 thrashing of hosts Brize Norton in Division 2.

Maahir Alam and Nick Brown also netted for Rangers, with Ozzie Oswald scoring the home side’s consolation.

Kai Merritt bagged a hat-trick as FC Ascott rose to third in the table with a 4-0 success over basement side Chipping Norton Town Res.

Jak Gibson scored the other from the penalty spot.

Goals from Dan Burgess and Herbie Hamilton gave Hanborough Res a 2-1 win over Kingham All Blacks, despite an Olly Peters effort.

Tower Hill Stars were narrowly beaten 2-1 at home to local rivals Tower Hill.

Will Smaldon scored for Tower Hill, but goals from James and Jack Scott gave the visitors the bragging rights and a five-point lead at the top of the league.

A double from Vince Evans helped Aston through to the next round of the Fred Ford Cup with a 3-1 win away to Hailey.

Jamie Kennedy netted a third for Aston, while Zachary Oliver scored for the hosts.

In the Oxfordshire Charity Cup, Carterton Town A saw off hosts Yarnton 5-2 after extra time to progress to the third round.

Olly Bush hit a hat-trick and there were also goals for Mike Bolt and Tommy Burns.
