BANBURY United manager Mike Ford expects a reaction from his side tonight as they entertain Dunstable Town, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

The Puritans’ three-match winning streak came to an end with a 1-0 defeat to King’s Lynn Town in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division on Saturday.

And a disappointed Ford called on his side to make an immediate recovery.

He said: “This is a good opportunity to put things right.

“I let the players know on Saturday that I was displeased with their performance and I will probably make some changes.

“There are a few who have played themselves out of the side.”

The Banbury boss, who has named the same starting XI in each of the last four games, could be forced into changes, with injury doubts over Jack Westbrook (dead leg) and Ricky Johnson (thigh strain).

In Division 1 South & West, North Leigh are aiming for a third victory in the space of eight days when they host Mangotsfield United.

Saturday’s 3-0 victory at AFC Totton marked the first time since August that the Millers have recorded back-to-back league wins and manager John Brough is hopeful of continuing the run.

“If we can get the three points that’s nine in the space of a week,” he said.

“That’s a great return and it proves what people say – a week is a long time in football.”

New signing Matt Sysum could make his home debut as he returns to the squad, as do Bradley Gray and James Murphy.

Morgan Williams (knee) and Conor Thompson (hamstring) remain sidelined.

Wantage Town are hopeful of striker Todd Hathaway’s return to the side as they travel to third-placed Evesham United.

The Alfredians were unable to name a recognised forward in their starting XI as they were beaten 2-0 by Bideford on Saturday and manager Stuart Cattell admitted his side need to be stronger in front of goal.

“It was an even game, but we just didn’t take our chances when we were on top,” he said.

“”It was like Groundhog Day – it’s happened so much this season.

“That’s an area we’re working on, because our goal scored column doesn’t make for great reading.”

Jared Jones is unavailable, while Adam Doyle (knee), Jake Johns (groin) and Tai Hulbert-Thomas (hernia) are injured.
