BRADLEY Smith ended his six-year partnership with the Monster Yamaha Tech3 team by finishing ninth in the Valencia MotoGP in Spain yesterday.
The Forest Hill rider, who will join the KTM RC 16 team next season, started on the fourth row of the grid, but moved inside the top ten in mid-race and held his position to finish ninth.
The result marks a positive end to what has been a challenging season for the 25-year-old, that has included a serious knee injury which he sustained in August.
The 2015 leading satellite rider finished the year 17th in the riders’ standings.
Jorge Lorenzo, who will join Ducati in 2017, completed his nine-year stay at Yamaha with victory.
