WANTAGE Town’s trip to Bridgwater Town is a must-win game, according to player-manager Stuart Cattell.

The Alfredians would move off the bottom of the table with victory over the side immediately above them.

“It’s early in the season to be talking about six pointers, but that’s exactly what this is,” said Cattell.

“If we win the game, all of a sudden we’re back in touch with the rest of the league.

“If we lose, we’re adrift.”

Wantage welcome back left back Cameron McNeil from suspension, with Ryan Elliott and Aaron Ferris also returning.

However, Tom Butler is unavailable and Adam Doyle (knee), Jake Johns (groin) and Tai Hulbert-Thomas (hernia) are injured.

Goalkeeper Leigh Bedwell returns from suspension as Didcot Town host Barnstaple Town, having been suspended last weekend.

Youth product Kieran Beesley filled in between the sticks as the Railwaymen extended their unbeaten run to three games with a 3-2 victory at Slimbridge, propelling them up to 13th in the table.

But player-manager Andy Ballard has not yet set his sights on a play-off push.

He said: “We’re definitely looking up the table now.

“We had a very slow start, but we don’t have too many points to make up to be in touch with the play-off places.

“A good run of wins and some poor form from the sides above us will put us right in the mix.

“But we’re not discussing that with the squad. Our focus is just on finishing as high up the table as possible.”

Jack Longford and Ryan Barney also return from knee injuries, but midfielder Alex Woodhouse has left the club due to work commitments.

Kidlington boss Julian McCalmon hopes to complete the signing of another attacking midfielder ahead of their home clash with Barton Rovers in Division 1 Central.

If the paperwork is completed on time, the new arrival is likely to feature in McCalmon’s squad tomorrow, following a seven-day approach to another club at the same level.

The Greens boss, who saw his side lose 2-1 at home to Aylesbury in the Challenge Cup on Wednesday night, has made a host of signings since taking over in September, but said that this could be the final piece of the puzzle.

“Once this is done I won’t be looking to add any further to the squad,” he said.

“I feel I now have a very good starting XI and the squad as a whole is very strong.

“There are lots of individuals who are capable of playing higher, but the way everyone has come together as a team in the last few weeks is very impressive.

“We have a run of tough games coming up, but once we get through that I think we’ll have a good idea of where we are as a team.”

Midfielder Ben Willoughby is added to Kidlington’s long-term injury list after sustaining ankle ligament damage last weekend, joining Kristian Thomas (knee), Charlie Wise (ankle) and Ben Weedon (hamstring).
