MANSFIELD Road beat Chalgrove 4-2 in the Oxfordshire Senior League to stay top of the Premier Division.

Simon Godfrey’s spot-kick put the hosts ahead after Sam Rolfe was fouled in the penalty area.

However, Alistair Stand equalised for the visitors against the run of play.

Chalgrove dominated the opening stages of the second half and retook the lead through Tom Clarke’s deflected effort.

But Mansfield hit back and secured victory through Jamie Cockfield (2) and Phil Kelly goals.

In Division 2, Kyle Pullen scored an injury-time winner as Oxford University Press Res came from 2-0 down to beat Launton Res 3-2 in a top-of-the-table clash.

Trailing by two goals at the break, Pullen restored some hope, before substitute Liam Carroll equalised with a 40-yard drive.

And on 95 minutes, Pullen latched on to a ball over the top and fired home the winner.

Charlton Res also trailed by two goals, but went on to beat Horspath Res 4-2.

MASONS Arms advanced to the quarter-finals of the Oxford City FA’s Premier Challenge Cup with a penalty shoot-out win over St Ebbes Headington, following a 4-4 draw.

Goals from Josh Horn (2), Tom Green and Peter Brown appeared enough to send Masons through, only for Headington to equalise in stoppage time.

Jamie Hutchings (2) netted twice for the visitors, alongside JP Doyle and Ellis Horwood, but they were just edged out in the shoot-out.

Summertown eased into the quarter-finals of the Couling Cup with a 4-1 win at depleted Headington Butchers.

Alex Thompson (2), Luke Smith and a Derek Derek McCormack own goal helped them to victory.

Peyman Ismail pulled one back for the hosts.

In the Premier Division, Edinho de Jesus scored a hat-trick as Lusitanos Oxford beat East Oxford 6-2.

Pal Kovacs, Bruno Freitas and Oscar Andrade also netted, while Sonio Gomes and Ryan Carr responded for the visitors.
