THE new Oxford & District League season has started without reigning champions Holton A.
The winners for the past four seasons have disbanded, with players having gone their separate ways.
Only Elson Costa remains in the league, having joined Forum A.
The race to replace them saw Bicester A, British Rail and Forum A all start with maximum wins.
British Rail start off top by beating Vikings A 10-0, with maximums for Darren Jones, Neil Cartwright and Greg Donovan.
Forum’s 9-1 victory over Rutherford saw Karl Bushell and Costa untroubled.
Bicester A beat Begbroke 8-2 to run in third, with a maximum for Jeff Rigby.
This season there are three larger divisions for three-a-side (3AS) teams instead of four smaller ones, and there is again a division for two-a-side (2AS) teams.
In Division 2, Forum D stormed to the top by beating Forum F 10-0, while Holton B had an excellent start in Divison 3 by beating Academy B 9-1 with maximums for Bob Ford and Paul Guest.
