MIKE Ford expects no cup hangover as his Banbury United side return to Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division action at home to Biggleswade Town tomorrow.
The Puritans recovered from their 2-1 defeat to Wealdstone in the Emirates FA Cup with a penalty shoot-out victory at home to Cirencester Town in the first round of the League Cup on Tuesday.
Andy Gunn netted a late strike for Banbury to make it 1-1 after 90 minutes.
But as attention now returns to the league campaign, the Banbury boss, who has a full-strength side to choose from, insists that has always been the priority.
Ford said: “The focus has always been on the league competition.
“We’re still in the League Cup and the FA Trophy and the Oxfordshire Senior Cup.
“But we’ve got 46 games in the league and that’s our priority.
“Our expectations at the start of the season were to be competitive in every game and so far we’ve done that.
“We’ve had some really difficult fixtures lately, but we’ve proven we can compete in all of them.”
TOMORROW’S SQUAD
Banbury Utd (v Biggleswade Tn, home): from Harding, White, Nash, Fawke, Westbrook, Janes, Bell, Browne, Self, McEachran, Blackstock, Johnson, Sambrook, Rimmer, Davies, Jeacock, McDonagh, Gunn, Martin.
