BERINSFIELD sealed their place in the quarter-finals of the North Berks League Charity Shield with a 6-0 humbling of local rivals Long Wittenham Athletic, writes RICHARD UNDERWOOD.

A dominant first-half display in the Group B tie saw the visitors race into a 5-0 lead, thanks to a Charlie Lee double and goals from Luke Holdsworth, Max Palmer and Shane Harris.

Holdsworth added his second early in the second half and Berinsfield cruised to victory.

Rob Hudson scored twice as Dorchester finished their campaign with a 5-4 home win over Sutton Courtenay.

Alex Kerry, Shea Townsend and Joe Gibbon were also on target for the hosts.

But they were run close, thanks to efforts from Ken Page, Dan Cadman and Rhys Griffiths, as well as a Rob Hudson own goal.

Group C leaders Saxton Rovers also booked their place in the next round, trouncing hosts Steventon 7-1.

Tom Stanley hit a hat-trick, Danny Cox netted twice, while Jonny James and Stuart Evans also scored.

Kevin Scott grabbed Steventon’s consolation.

North Oxford finished runners-up after coming away from East Hendred with a 1-1 draw.

Jordan Pacey scored for Hendred and Steve Andrews registered for the visitors.

In Group A, Ashley Searle hit four goals as Wallingford Town won 7-1 at Harwell Village.

Charlie Silkstone grabbed a double and Joe Webber also netted for the away side, with Gareth Bertram scoring Harwell’s consolation.

Damien Gwazeni’s brace helped Stanford in the Vale beat Hanney United 4-0 in Group D.

Dave Griffin and Kieran McCarthy were also on the scoresheet.

Faringdon Town Res picked up their first points of the season in Division 2 with a 2-1 win at Kintbury Rangers Res, courtesy of a Richard Owens double.

Kintbury replied through Luke Abery, but could not deny the visitors a first win to lift them off the bottom of the table.

Watlington Town went top of Division 3 after ending Ardington & Lockinge’s unbeaten record with a 6-2 victory.

Edgar Garces and Ben Little scored twice apiece, with further goals coming from Alex B’layachi and Dan Clifford.

Chris Buckell and Jamie Gregory scored for the visitors.

Stuart Armstrong and Darren Webster were on target as Marcham moved up to third with a 2-0 home victory over Grove Rangers.

Harry Winn bagged a hat-trick as Saxton Rovers Res thrashed visiting Compton 9-0, with Liam Smith netting twice.

Michael Smith, Dale Truby, Max Shepherd and Jakob Fahl also scored.

There was a treble for Mikey Bone as Wallingford Town Res won 7-0 at home to Uffington United.

Harry Voice scored twice, with further efforts from Craig Passey and Mikey Fellows sealing a convincing victory.
