VALTTERI Bottas is hoping to put positive past experiences at Hockenheim to good use in tomorrow’s German Grand Prix.
The 26-year-old, who drives for Grove-based Williams, finished second at the circuit, which is situated in the Rhine Valley, two years ago.
And he is hopeful of a similar result ahead of the four-week summer shutdown.
He said: “It is one of my best F1 results. It’s a track I’ve driven a lot when I was in the junior categories like Formula Renault and Formula 3, so I know the place really well.”
It has been a tough season for Enstone-based Renault so far.
Kevin Magnussen, who has picked up all six of their points, said: “We are not delivering what we want on track at the moment, but we knew that would be the story of this year.”
Banbury-based Haas are eighth in the constructor standings and Romain Grosjean is eyeing a strong result.
He said: “It’s always good to get a morale boost before the shutdown.”
