DARREN Cox clanged off 16 dolls (5-5-6) to lead Florence Park A to a 2-1 win at Vikings Sports A in Section 3 of the Greene King Oxford Lea-gue, writes ANDY BEAL.

Park set and won the opening leg 20-19, while the second leg was tied 20-20 with Vikings winning it on three sticks.

In the decider, Park triumphed 19-15 to revive their title hopes. Darren Trinder scored 13 (4-4-5) for Vikings.

Leaders Chequers A lost 2-1 to their C team, who won the first leg on three sticks.

The A team took the next 24-13, but lost the decider 20-14.

Vikings Sports B’s title ambitions were hit when they crashed 3-0 at George B.

The hosts won the first two legs 17-12, 17-16 and completed the whitewash in the final leg on three sticks after a 22-22 tie.

Tiddington Cricket Club and Masons Arms A hit the same number of dolls, but it was the latter who sneaked it on three sticks in the decider.

It is as you were at the top of the Premier Section, with the top two recording 2-1 victories.

Leaders Swan A beat Garsington Sports A in a high-scoring game.

Swan nicked the opening leg 28-27, but their opponents took the next 26-23.

Garsington decided to set in the final leg, but managed only 22.

Swan sailed home with 30. Both Swan’s Dick Walsh and Garsington’s Ken Maunder hit 13.

Second-placed Gladiators A dropped a leg at home to George A.

Glads took the first on three sticks after it was tied 23-23.

George levelled 28-24, but the hosts squeezed the last 28-26.

Kevin Stuart was top dog for the George with 13 (4-4-5).

New Club A had a hard-fought 3-0 victory at Bullnose Morris, winning 30-29, 28-23, 24-22.

Roger Goodall, for New Club, bagged 15 dolls (5-6-4), while teammate Adrian Shepherd scored 14 (5-5-4).

Any one of seven teams can land the Section 4 title in a tight race.
Leading by a point, Blackbird won 18-10, 22-13, 19-11 against Red Lion A Marston. 
Donnington Club A lost 2-1 at home to Three Horseshoes, for whom Phil Jackson bagged himself a six in his 12-doll haul.
Anchor man Steve Jessop did the business with a couple of fours as Littlemore British Legion edged Cricketers Arms 2-1, with only one doll separating the teams.
Section 5’s basement club North Oxford Con Club A were unlucky not to come away with a victory at Six Bells B Quarry. 
The visitors lost the first leg15-14 and then set 15 in the next leg.
Six Bells had to rely on their anchor man Gavin Lovatt to clang off the four dolls needed to tie the leg, and they went on to win on three sticks. 
Bell took the last 9-6.
Section 7 leaders Northway Club A saw off their nearest challengers Bullnose Morris B 12-15, 16-15, 20-16.
This was thanks to a dozen dolls from Northway’s Steve Bennett.
Marston British Legion shocked title contenders Green Road Club A with a 2-1 victory, taking the legs 14-12, 13-16, 18-16.
