THERE were mixed fortunes for Oxfordshire’s women when they hosted a T20 Division 3 fixture at Bicester and North Oxford CC.

They started the day in brilliant fashion with a nine-wicket victory over Cornwall in the ECB Women’s County Championship.

After restricting their visitors to 73-5, Oxon knocked off the runs easily thanks to an opening stand of 70 between Lauren Down (33no) and Genny Porter (29).

In their second match, Oxon were restricted to 93-8 against Northants, who won by five wickets.

RACHEL Potter's spell of 4-8 from seven overs helped Oxon Girls beat Leicestershire by four wickets in a low-scoring ECB Under 17 County Cup match at Lutterworth.

The hosts were all out for 39 and Oxon finished on 40-6.

Oxon Under 15s went down by 83 runs away to Warwickshire in Group 2 of the ECB Championship.

The hosts posted 216-8, Miranda Edwards taking 3-17.

Georgia Brown scored 40 off 63 balls in Oxon’s reply of 133.

Edwards shone again with 5-7 as Oxon regained their winning touch with an eight-wicket success over Shropshire at Bicester & North Oxford.

In their third match of the week, they lost by 159 runs to Staffordshire at Kingston Bagpuize.
