OXFORD City continued their dominance of this year’s Mota-vation Series in the third round.
They had six runners in the top eight at Combe with Aaron Burgess claiming his second victory in 20mins 32secs to take the overall championship lead.
City dominated from the start and Burgess, 34, crossed eight seconds ahead of teammate Maxwell Robinson.
Clubmate Les Newell was third and first vet 40, beating Woodstock Harrier James Bolton by three seconds.
Bicester’s Ben West, 15, put in a fine performance to finish tenth and top of the under 19 category.
Witney’s Tony Lock (V50) and City’s Phil Kimber (V70) won their age groups for the third successive race.
In the ladies, Headington’s Diane Moore scored her first vet 35 victory over Sophie Carter, from Woodstock, who was running for first-claim club Belgrave Harriers.
Moore finished 22nd overall in 22.49.
Defending champion Carter shares the series lead with Jessica Webb, of Woodstock Harriers, who did not compete at Combe.
Eynsham’s Kate Williamson scored her third vet 65 win in a row.
