Matt Chapman is hoping for a return to the podium when he competes at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge.

The 16-year-old Oxford-based driver slipped down from second to fourth in the standings after a disappointing performance last time out at Croft, but is looking for a return to form on his first visit to the legendary Belgian track.

He said: “It’s a new track for me, and it’s a big departure from any of the circuits I’ve visited before.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge and am exited about the prospect of racing there for the first time.

“Hopefully the weather will be kind to us so we can get as much mileage under our belt as possible.”

Also at Spa-Francorchamps circuit are Chipping Norton-based Sean Walkinshaw Racing as the British Formula 3 decamps to Belgium.

While Australian Thomas Maxwell and South African Eugene Denyssen will both be looking to continue their fine form, budget difficulties mean Danish teammate Jan Jonck will miss out on.

It comes after Walkinshaw was in action last weekend at the Blancpain Sprint Cup.

He and teammate Ricardo Sanchez finished fourth and fifth in the two races at the Nurburgring in Germany.
