LITTLEMORE reached the last four of the Angling Times/Bait Tech Supercup with a victory over Thatcham at Hunts Corner Pond on Saturday.

After winning four sections to Thatcham’s two, Littlemore will now contest the semi-final at Viaduct Fishery in Somerset.

Chris Webb (Littlemore) won the match with one carp and one tench on the pole with maggot and 12lb of rudd on the whip for 24lb 10oz 0 drms.

Thatcham’s Gary Shillito was second with 14.7.0, just ahead of teammate Nick Hazzard on 12.8.0.

The following day, Pete Clarke enjoyed a runaway win in Littlemore’s J Henwood Shield on the Thames at Sandford.

Fishing the stick with maggot, Clarke had 14.1.0 of roach and chublets for his third win in a row.

Bill Allen came second in his maiden match 9.10.0, while Paul Hitchman was third with 9.9.0

Dave Hawkins just failed to reach a ton, when winning the fourth Oxford Carp League match contested by 19 anglers at Oakfield’s Red Kite Lake.

The Didcot angler, fishing from peg 36, triumphed with 99lb 6oz 0drms of mainly carp on maggot at 13m towards the mudline.

Runner-up was Andy Benwell with 97.4.0, while fellow Kidlington angler Craig Partridge was third with 90.11.0, off the opposite bank

Paul Passmore, from Devizes MG, won the season’s first Oxford and District Open, which was fished by 32 anglers on the Thames at Medley.

With the river flowing nicely, it was always going to be a match about catching bream.

Passmore, drawn on the famous fallen tree peg at the top end of the poplars, had bream and skimmers for 43.2.0.

Clubmate Gary Williamson was second with 38.6.0, while Banbury Gunsmiths’ Ryan Seymour had to settle for third with 28.1.0.

Yarnton and District AC’s first match of the season on Yarnton Meadow was disrupted by a triathlon swimming event.

When that cleared, it fished well, with Pete Oliver taking silvers at 13m fishing caster over groundbait for 6.6.0 to retain the Tony Beckett Memorial Cup.

North Oxford AS and Charlbury anglers contested the Brown Brother’s Cup on the Oxford Canal at King’s Bridge.

It was won by North Oxford’s Ian Fisher, who had a mixed bag for a weight of 17.10.0.

John Coleman, fishing worm, finished second with 12.8.0 which included a five pound zander.

In third place was Paul Jackman with 4.6.0 of skimmers.
