PETE Hall hit three maximums but it could not prevent Cowley Workers losing 7-2 in a high-quality clash at Kidlington Green Social Club B.

The Greene King ODDA Summer League match featured nine 180s, as the Premier side got the better of their Section 1 visitors.

After Mark Burns (180) put Cowley ahead, Workers hit back to lead thanks to wins from Hall (3x180) and Jon Jukes (180).

The hosts then took control, with wins from Sean Holly, Geordie Grant and Terry Woods (180), followed by a 3-0 pairs success.

Chequers Inn B edged out visitors Corner House A 5-4 in a tight match.

Dan Kirton and Paul Bustin saw the hosts come from behind to lead 2-1, but Corner House, who struck first through Craig Inness, levelled through Ken Coleman.

Andy Jones restored Corner House’s lead, only for Richard Reveley to equalise, but Chequers were not to be denied and a 2-1 victory in the pairs saw them finish on top.

Simon Tricker’s superb 148 out-shot helped Democrats win 6-3 at home to Vikings in Section 2.

Tricker, Ashley Presley and Aaran Presley put the hosts 3-0 ahead, only for the advantage to be wiped out by Chris Pollard, Sean Stratford and Sean Pollard.

Democrats responded emphatically to whitewash the pairs, clinching their fourth successive victory.

Black Bull claimed an impressive 7-2 win at Section 3 rivals Duke of Monmouth.

Chris Belcher provided the only joy for the hosts in the singles, as Trevor Skinner, Chris Room, George Baker, Steve Dennett and Jim Deabill struck for Black Bull.

A 2-1 victory in the pairs completed the rout.

Corner House’s scintillating start to the Ladies’ Premier Section continued.

They have yet to drop a single leg, winning 9-0 for the fourth week running.

Florence Park B were on the receiving end for the second match in succession, as Corner House boosted their hopes of landing a first top-flight title since 2013.

Hosts Witney Snooker Club gained immediate revenge for the 5-4 defeat to Blackbird Leys Bowls Club by winning the rematch 6-3.

After falling behind, the home side took control with wins for Sue Poyser, Maggie Dexter-Naylor, Sam Merrifield and Greta Britnell, before taking the pairs 2-1.
