YOUNGSTER Dominic Whinfrey produced a starring performance for Sunningwell 2nd, but could not inspire his side to victory at home to Hanney 2nd in the Osberton Radiators Cup.

The 15-year-old returned career-best figures of 7-23 as the visitors were shot out for 138.

Whinfrey rattled up a maiden OCA League half-century in Sunningwell’s reply.

But his 54 was ultimately in vain, as they were bowled out for 101, with David Buckle taking 6-19 for Hanney.

Witney Swifts 2nd booked their place in round two, courtesy of a sixwicket win at home to Eynsham 2nd.

Eynsham had no answer to left-arm spinner Graeme Woodward, who claimed 6-22 in 11.3 overs, as the visitors were shot out for 101.

James O’Sullivan (32) and Harry Thompson (31) then led Swifts to 102- 4.

Yarnton & Cowley 2nd cruised past hosts Kidlington 3rd by 94 runs.

After Yarnton racked up 247-6 with Habib Mohammed making 73, Kidlington never got close, finishing on 153-9.

Kidlington 2nd booked their place in round two of the Steve Dixon Memorial Cup after winning by five wickets at home to Faringdon 2nd.

Nick Jeacock returned figures of 5-35 as Faringdon set 190-9, Kevin Huxtable top-scoring with 71.

Adam Tait then hit 82 not out in Kidlington’s reply as they reached 194-5.

Wolvercote 2nd saw off hosts Garsington by three wickets.

After Jason Elliott’s 4-33 helped to dismiss Garsington for 148, David Gillham hit 48 and Chris Babbs 30 to see Wolvercote to 152-7.

Tetsworth 2nd beat hosts Hanney by four wickets.

Ayman Aman (4-18) and Hamid Abdul (4-34) combined to restrict the hosts to 133 all out, before Reggie Isaac hit 56 to steer Tetsworth to 134- 6.

Three wickets apiece for Richard Knight, Jordan Glazer and Adam Bennett helped Hook Norton see off visitors Great Horwood 2nd by eight wickets.

Horwood crawled to 58-9, and Hooky eased to the paltry target in just 10.4 overs.

Steventon booked their place in round two with a 101-run win over visitors Britwell Salome.

Phil Armstrong top-scored with 55 in Steventon’s 185 all out, before he claimed 3-7 and Matthew Lindley 3-21 in Britwell’s 84 all out.
