HORSPATH remain unbeaten in Division 2 after visitors Shipton-under-Wychwood suffered a dramatic top-order collapse on the way to a seven-wicket defeat.

Shipton had reached 22-0 after deciding to bat when they lost four wickets for no runs in the space of 11 balls.

Adam Price triggered the collapse, having Joe Barrett caught behind by Jasper Davies, before Andrew Hemming was run out by Lloyd Belcher’s direct hit from mid-on.

Will Eason then bowled Simon Hole and Price shattered Calvin Dickinson’s stumps – the pair both going for ducks.

There was no way back from there for Shipton, who were bowled out for 133, Eason finishing with 3-18, Belcher 2-13 and Price 2-29.

Opener Rameez Raja then hit an unbeaten 74 off 77 balls, with ten fours and three sixes, to steer Horspath to victory at 136-3 off 26.5 overs.

Oxford lost by two-wickets at home to Buckingham Town.

After electing to bat, opener Shabaaz Alam was dismissed early on to leave the hosts on 8-1.

But good contributions from George Munsey, Vishane Perera and Freddie Fairhead put them in a good position at 158-6.

Shami Mendis top-scored with 40 as Oxford set a competitive total of 253-9.

Samad Fallah (4-34), Mark Beer, and Faisal Khalid restricted the visitors to 52-5, but a sixth-wicket stand of 90 between Jonny Cater (67) and Simon Myatt (64) hauled them into contention.

Jack Parish added 44 as they won with five balls to spare.

Thame Town suffered an agonising four-run defeat to Cookham Dean.

The hosts elected to bat and were all out for 215.

Matt MacDonald hit a half-century in reply, but Thame were struggling at 136-7.

Daniel Patey and Adam Phippen’s eighth-wicket partnership of 49 helped their cause, but they fell just short.

Aston Rowant lost by six wickets at Gerrards Cross.

Alex Jewell scored a half-century as the visitors were put into bat, but their middle order collapsed, losing four wickets for just ten runs.

Despite Leo Bethell’s quick-fire 25 off 24, Rowant were all out for 129.

The hosts made short work of chasing down their total, with more than ten overs to spare.
