JORDAN Evans will be a nervous spectator tomorrow after the injured full back stayed around the Oxford United squad for the run-in.
The loanee’s season was effectively ended by a fractured rib picked up in the 1-1 draw at Newport County last month.
But Evans has not returned to parent club Fulham, preferring to stay part of United’s push for promotion.
The 20-year-old watched from the stands in the 2-0 win against Hartlepool United a fortnight ago and will do so again as his teammates take on Wycombe Wanderers, when a win would send them up to Sky Bet League One.
He said: “I like to think I’ve been a part of it since I came in November.
“I want to see the boys do it. It would be a massive achievement and it’s something I want to be around.
“I’d like to be a part of it if we do it.
“I was checking my phone all the time last weekend when they were at Carlisle and when I saw Sercs (Liam Sercombe) had scored to make it 2-0, that was class.
“I’ll be there watching on Saturday.
“I’ll be nervous but I have every confidence in the boys – they can get it done.”
