Banbury United boss Mike Ford has promised an attacking performance as his side welcome fellow play-off contenders North Leigh to the Spencer Stadium tomorrow.

With 68 goals from 27 games, the Puritans are top scorers in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West, but have yet to beat any of their promotion rivals.

That anomaly is due to an uncharacteristic cautiousness against top opposition, according to Ford, but that won’t be a problem this weekend.

“We’re not going to set ourselves up defensively this weekend,” said Ford.

“We’re as good as anyone in this league and we don’t need to fear anybody."

“We have an array of attacking talent at our disposal, we’re the top scorers in the division and we’ve only lost.”

Ford has a full contingent to choose from as winger Mark Bell returns.

North Leigh are also at full strength following the return of striker George Seacole, looking to rekindle the form which made them among the early frontrunners.

A run of four defeats from six games has left the Millers outside the play-off positions, three points behind their hosts, and manager Mark Gee is keen to reel United back in.

“This is not a win or bust game, but obviously we don’t want them to be three points further ahead of us,” he said.

Wantage Town have strengthened their attacking options ahead of the the visit of Evesham United.

Striker Elliott Powell has joined the Alfredians from Abingdon United, while attacking midfielder Dave Coleman has signed from Purton.

“They’re both from lower leagues, but they have a point to prove,” said manager Stuart Cattell.

Both could be handed debuts as striker Sam Collier starts a three-match ban, with defender Carl Evans unavailable and Piers McGlynn going.

Midfielder Jack Powell is suspended as Didcot Town look to maintain their unbeaten 2016 record at home to high-flying Winchester City.

Defender James Organ should be fit to play, despite sustaining a bruised foot.
