Hasan Ali was the star as Oracle F defeated Oracle D 4-2 in the semi-finals of the Gentworks Oxford & District Snooker League’s Simonds Cup.

The youngster won his first frame against John Donkin 68-31 to help his team into a 3-2 lead.

The two met again in the decider, with Donkin needing not only to win but also overhaul a 32-point deficit to see the D team home.

Ali never gave him a chance with a superb break of 44 to win 74-16.

In the other semi-final, Abingdon Conservative Club A cruised to a 4-1 win at Woodstock, Michael Bennett and Karl Walker each winning twice.

A superb break of 44 from Gordon Cook secured an exciting 2-1 victory for Abingdon Conservative Club A over Ashton Club in the quarter-finals of the Gentworks Oxford & District Billiards League’s Hashman Shield.
With the match level at 1-1, Cook took on fellow scratch player Terry Chambers, who held an early lead for Ashton.
But Cook’s break knocked the stuffing out of his opponents as he clinched the decider 150-129.
Also through to the semi-finals are New Club, who defeated Oxford Bowls A 2-1, David White sneaking the decider 150-131 against Norman Woodcock.
