Oxford Hawks could not hang on to a 2-0 lead as they went down 4-3 at home to Spencer in South League Premier Division.

Goals from Sam Chilvers and Alex Williams appeared to have put Hawks in early control, but they conceded a score just before half-time.

Defensive errors let Spencer take a 3-2 lead in the second half.

Although Jack Biggs levelled from a short corner, Hawks paid for their lack of fitness and conceded another goal before the end.

A last-minute score denied Oxford victory as they drew 2-2 at home to Newbury & Thatcham in Regional Division 1.

After going behind, Dan Bleach levelled for Oxford, who appeared to have sealed the points when Matt McKeown scored with a drag-flick from a short corner.

But Jamie Bristow’s second goal for Newbury snatched a draw.

Oxford 2nd won 4-2 at home to Eastcote 2nd, thanks to goals from Andy Wynd (2), Sam Clarke-Wary and Dan Strange.
