WEMBLEY is the goal for Oxford City boss Justin Merritt as his side look to advance from their FA Trophy second round replay at Cheltenham Town tonight.

Further progress in the competition would increase their fixture backlog, but would move them to within three victories of a dream final.

And Merritt believes it is a mouthwatering prospect.

“There’s prestige in the FA Trophy and if we win this one we’re only a few games away from Wembley,” he said.

“The league is our bread and butter, but we want to go as far in this as we can.”

Full back David King is unlikely to feature after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday’s 4-1 win over St Albans City, while fellow defender Matt Bevans is cup-tied.

Banbury United put their Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West promotion credentials to the test as they travel to second-placed Taunton Town.

Puritans boss Mike Ford believes his side are the underdogs.

He said: “They should be top by a mile – they have a huge budget and are able to spend huge amounts on players.”

Didcot Town are without defender James Organ as they entertain Burnham.
