The main selection decision facing Oxford United head coach Michael Appleton today is how to replace the ineligible Chris Maguire.
The Scot’s loan deal prohibits him from playing in the Emirates FA Cup against Swansea City, meaning there will be one enforced change from the side which won 4-2 at Notts County.
Maguire was used on the left flank at Meadow Lane, so Appleton can either start with Callum O’Dowda, or move Kemar Roofe wide and play a second striker alongside Ryan Taylor.
Appleton said: “There will be one or two disappointed people, but the reality is that’s why you have a squad.”
Swansea boss Alan Curtis, taking charge for the first time since the club announced he was staying until the end of the season, is set to make wholesale changes.
The visitors could do so and still feature several Premier League regulars, including England international Jonjo Shelvey, France striker Bafetimbi Gomis and Ecuador winger Jefferson Montero.
Oxford Utd: from Slocombe, Baldock, Mullins, Wright, Skarz, MacDonald, Sercombe, Lundstram, O’Dowda, Roofe, Taylor, Hylton, Hoban, Rose, Ruffels, Evans, Dunkley, Buchel.
Swansea: from Nordfeldt, Naughton, Amat, Bartley, Tabanou, Grimes, Shelvey, Barrow, Emnes, Montero, Gomis, Eder, Cork, Britton, Sung-Yeung, Rangel, Williams, Taylor, Tremmel.
