OXFORD United are open to Michael Collins training with another club if it means he can secure a move in January.

The 29-year-old is back at the U’s this week after spending the past two months on loan at York City.

With the deadline now passed for players to secure new moves, Collins is in limbo until the transfer window opens in January.

The midfielder is still not in Michael Appleton’s plans, but United’s head coach has no problem with interested clubs taking him for an extended trial until the new year.

He said: “Michael will be with us but we’re quite happy if somebody wants to have a look at him.

“As long as he’s happy we’ll allow him to go and train and try to get him an opportunity to get something in January.

“We’ve got some good midfield players and I don’t want to stand in his way.”

Josh Ashby and Josh Ruffels, two of the midfielders who have helped make Collins surplus to requirements, both scored for the development squad yesterday.

Youth team forward Jordan Graham also netted in a 3-0 victory against Kidderminster Harriers at Court Place Farm.
