Stuart Cattell, Wantage Town’s interim player-manager, will have to watch their match at home to Marlow from the sidelines as he is serving a suspension.

Cattell has collected his five bookings in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West this season and been given a one-match ban.

“Although I will get a different perspective on the game from the dug-out, I’d be much happier being out there in the middle,” said Cattell, who has been in charge since boss Daniel Barry’s resignation on November 3.

The 27-year-old says he is more than happy to remain in temporary charge alongside player-coach Sam Collier, but he would welcome additional support.

Cattell, whose side are in the bottom two, added: “With Sam and me both playing, the ideal scenario would be to get someone to work alongside me or as a manager, with a bit of Southern League experience and contacts.”

Collier returns while Cattell will give a debut to defender Ryan Elliott, who has joined from Swindon Supermarine.

Didcot Town will be without Jamie Heapy and Josh Dutton-Black for their trip to Shortwood United.

Joint-manager Heapy aggravated a thigh injury in their 1-0 victory against Mangotsfield United on Tuesday, while Dutton-Black is attending a wedding.

Fellow joint-boss Ian Concannon said his side welcomed the seven-day break before the Mangotsfield game.

“The team were out on their feet after the FA Cup tie against Exeter City and we lost 5-1 at Tiverton two days later,” he said.

“I told the players that our season started on Tuesday.”

Banbury United, who have shot up to fifth place, are unchanged at home to Wimborne.

Ricky Johnson, described by boss Mike Ford as ‘a talisman’ after scoring three-hat-tricks this season, will play despite suffering from a shoulder injury.

North Leigh missed a chance to go top on Wednesday when they could only draw 1-1 at Slimbridge.

Lewis White netted for the Millers, who entertain Yate Town tomorrow.
