Oxford City Stars have bolstered their squad by signing Slovakian defenceman Boris Ruzicka.

The 27-year-old learnt his trade in Slovakia but has also played in the Czech Republic and Romania.

He arrives at the Stars from Romanian side Progym Gheorheni and will feature for the Stars for the first time in the double-header this weekend against Cardiff Devils and Streatham Redskins.

Ruzicka is the first import signing to replace summer captures Andrew Bates and Andrew Magee who have now both left the club.

Head coach Simon Anderson said: “Boris is a big unit, who will not only give us a presence but some experience as well. He is still in his prime, but is also really experienced.”
