LAWRENCE Clarke qualified for the semi-finals of the 110m hurdles at the IAAF World Championships in Beijing earlier this morning.
However, the 25-year-old, from Christmas Common, near Watlington, had to rely on being one of four fastest losers after missing out on automatic qualification.
Clarke came fifth in 13.61secs in his heat, which was won by Olympic champion Aries Merritt.
He will compete in the third heat of tomorrow's semi-finals (12.05pm BST), alongside American David Oliver who is one of only three athletes to run under 13 seconds this year.
