DANNY Nicholls expects to make further changes to Oxford City’s side for tonight’s visit of Basingstoke Town in Vanarama National League South, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

City’s assistant manager, who has taken charge while general manager Justin Merritt is on honeymoon, made three changes for Saturday’s 1-0 win at Maidstone United, despite a good showing in a 3-1 victory at St Albans City.

Despite success on Saturday, Nicholls is expected to continue to rotate the squad.

He said: “What’s important at this time of the season is that players are being used, because they can easily sit on the bench for three or four games and then not be able to be used.

“You have to keep players in the squad ticking over.”

Lee Henderson, an unused sub on Saturday, is one who could come in.

Banbury United boss Mike Ford hopes his side can reward their followers with a win as they host their first match as a supporter-owned club.

Supporters completed a takeover of the club ahead of Saturday’s 4-1 win at Bridgwater, which sees ownership of the club transferred to a Community Benefit Society, and Ford wants to give the new owners something to celebrate as they host Burnham in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West.

Ford said: “The supporters have been fantastic. They’ve had to work so hard to get themselves into a position to own their club and now they’ve got their reward.”

Midfielder Louis Joyce is set to miss out with a calf infection.

Defender Luke Carnell returns to Didcot Town’s squad for their trip to Mangotsfield, as they look to recover from Saturday’s 4-1 defeat at Bridgwater.

Joint manager Jamie Heapy said: “We don’t get too carried away when we win and we don’t get too disappointed when we lose, but sometimes a defeat can just serve to keep you grounded.

“The lads are still confident and still together and they’re keen to bounce back from it.”

Midfielder Josh Dutton-Black misses out with an ankle injury.

Wantage Town, aiming for their first win, entertain bottom side Bashley.
