OXFORD have been relegated from Division 1 after they were skittled for just 75 in a crushing ten-wicket defeat to title-chasing Banbury.

They are now unable to catch Tring Park, who sit a place above the relegation zone – an unassailable 62 points ahead of winless Oxford, with three matches remaining.

Ollie Wright did most of the damage (5-10), as Oxford showed why they are still searching for their first win of the season.

An abject batting display saw them collapse to 75 all out in 39.2 overs after being 45-0.

Tim Paine wasted little time in securing victory for Banbury, blasting 59 off 44 balls as the north Oxfordshire side boosted their title hopes.

Oxford began well after being inserted and kept opening bowlers Chad Keegan and Karl Penhale at bay as Brad Sutherland and Vishane Perera put on 45 for the first wicket.

However, the momentum shifted in Banbury's favour when Richard West had Sutherland caught behind by Paine.

It was all one-way traffic from there, Wright leading the way.

He had Alex Morgan and Harvey Eltham caught by wicket-keeper Paine for ducks in the same over.

And Oxford disastrously then lost seven wickets for just 11 runs.

John Barrett was stumped by Paine, before West and Wright removed captain Ian Crosby and Ian Evans, who both failed to get off the mark.

Wright continued to cut through Oxford's faltering batting order, bowling Freddie Simon and then removing Will Rooney, who was caught by Paine for a duck.

When Jimmy Phillips dismissed Adam Spears, Oxford were on the brink at 73-9.

And the last man out was opener Perera, who top-scored with 26 off 105 balls before Paine caught him off the bowling of Penhale.

Banbury were in no mood to hang around and in just 10.1 overs they reached their target.

Paine smashed eight fours and two sixes in his knock.

Horspath are 18 points above the drop zone after conceding a club record 307-7 as they crashed to a thumping 153-run defeat at High Wycombe.

Paul Sawyer led the way for the hosts with a superb 105 off 101 balls after they had been put in to bat.

Sawyer, who survived a chance on 99, hit 12 fours and two sixes.

He received good support from Alan Duncan, who blasted 63 off 41 deliveries, with eight fours and two sixes, and David Cranfield-Thompson (44).

Adam Price took 3-64 for Horspath, while 16-year-old left-arm spinner Lloyd Belcher made a fine comeback after seven weeks out with a broken finger by picking up 2-44.

The visitors were soon in trouble at 12-3, before being bowled out for 154 off 37.5 overs, with skipper Will Eason (35) top-scoring as Cameron Parsons picked up 3-35.
