ANUPAM Sanklecha took seven wickets as Shipton-under-Wychwood returned to winnings way in Division 2 with a five-wicket victory over Gerrards Cross.

Shipton had slipped to seventh from second in the table after a winless July, but after skittling the visitors for just 85, they eased home.

Sanklecha finished with 7-21 and restricted Gerrards Cross to 16-4.

Top order batsman Jamie Hoddle, James Crosthwaite and Matthew Watson were all dismissed for ducks.

Daniel Hampton top-scored with 20, but he became Sanklecha’s sixth victim to make it 65-8.

Elliott Green and Joseph Bracey were then dismissed with the Buckinhamshire side all out for 85 from 42 overs.

Shipton got off to a poor start with Andrew Hemming trapped lbw by Jamie Hoddle for a duck, but captain Simon Hole and Charles Brain put on 45 for the second wicket.

Brain was dismissed by Green as Shipton lost four wickets for just two runs, but Hole (43no) and Sanklecha (20no) steered them to victory in 28.3 overs.

Great & Little Tew increased their lead at the top of the table to 32 points despite being held to a draw by Buckingham Town.

Matthew Clark (75) and Jordan Garrett (72) led the way in Tew’s 227-8.

Jonny Cater (62) top-scored for Buckingham and, with the overs counting down, Samuel Smart and James Gear hung on to earn the visitors a draw.

Aston Rowant suffered a second straight defeat in a 32-run loss at Datchet.

Gareth Harte spearheaded the hosts’ innings, hitting 83 off 85 balls in their 222-8.

Wes Morrick claimed 3-40.

Rowant openers Damian Shirazi and Andrew Tolson were dismissed in the first four overs, leaving them 5-2.

A third-wicket partnership of 109 between Tom Condon and Daniel Matthews put Rowant in contention, but after they were dismissed, the run chase dwindled and they fell short.
