OXFORD advanced to the final of the Bernard Tollett Cup with a two-run victory over Aston Rowant in a rainaffected match.
The semi-final came down to the last over, with Rowant needing seven runs to win, but they fell short, losing on run rate.
Alex Davies top scored with 25, while Ryan Carters (22) and John Barrett (21) chipped in as Oxford set a respectable 141-9 in their 20 overs.
After rain, Rowant’s innings was reduced to 18 and they needed 128 runs to win.
Chris Watling hit a quickfire 40 off 29 balls as Rowant found themselves at 67-3.
As wickets fell around him, Tom Condon (54no) gave the hosts a chance of victory.
But with seven needed off the last over, Rowant just missed out on 125-8.
Davies did the damage, taking 4-23.
