UNIVERSITY coach Mark Farmer has been appointed Oxfordshire’s new performance cricket manager.

Farmer, 27, who coaches at Oxford Brookes and Oxford universities, as well as Cumnor, will begin his new role on August 10.

Interviews were conducted by a panel including OCB director, Tim Spittles, along with business director and first team captain, Luke Ryan.

He will work with the existing coaching network to implement a strategy to promote the development of performance cricket.

Farmer said: “I’m thrilled to be given this opportunity and I look forward to contributing to the development of performance cricket in Oxfordshire.”

Ryan added: “Mark has demonstrated clearly that he has the qualities to really make a positive impact.”
