Headington A’s juggernaut rolled on in Division 1 of the Oxfordshire League, sponsored by Bridle Insurance, with a 6-0 whitewash win at basement boys Bicester.

The reigning champions are now ten points clear of Carterton in second, with just four games left.

Skips Jason King and Nick Rea-Welsh did the real damage with ten and 12-shot verdicts respectively.

But at least Bicester held them to under 100 shots in a 96-69 scoreline.

West Witney sprang a surprise with a 4-2 win at Shiplake Village.

At 15 ends, West Witney were leading on three rinks, and on track for five points, but the home side snatched draws on two of the three.

However, Harry Williams’s 29-23 win was enough to give the visitors a 83-80 win and the match points.

Banbury Central crashed 5-1 at home to Carterton.

The highlight was provided by Paul Sharman’s rink putting Will Campion’s men to the sword with a 35-4 drubbing in the 93-67 scoreline.

Witney Mills sent Watlington packing 5-1 in their Division 2 top-of-the-table clash.

Mills triumphed on three rinks, including a big 30-15 victory for Richard Barnett’s men over the recent ‘super rink’ of Shane Cooper.

With wins for John Mott and Chris Weller, Mills generated enough shots to overcome Bob Gilkes’ 25-8 success for Watlington and extend Mills lead at the top.

Recovery of the week was at The Oxford where Paul Ilott’s rink were five shots down at 20 ends against Thame, but scored the six they needed to snatch victory.

Dennis Sims’s men had already ensured victory for the home team with a 32-19 win as they triumphed 5-1.

In Division 3, Oxford City & County B had Collin Pollard’s 36-6 victory to thank for their three points at home to Chipping Norton, who won well on the other three rinks in the 3-3 score.
