GREAT & Little Tew remain top of Division 2 despite only drawing in their clash at Dinton on Saturday.

The leaders set 254-9 off 58 overs, and after restricting their hosts to 58-5, looked on course to record another win.

But a 87-run sixth-wicket partnership between Nheem Amin and Kelvin Burrows (50) stopped them in their tracks.

And a 76-run seventh-wicket stand between Amin, who finished unbeaten on 86, and Tim Brooker (38) saw the match end in a draw.

It all started so well for Tew, with Joe White (80) and Jordan Garrett (61) putting on 129 for the first wicket after they had been asked to bat.

However, they then lost wickets at regular intervals, and it was not until Robbie Shurmer (43) and Ashley Hubbert (31) came together for the seventh wicket that the score really accelerated.

The duo put on 63 as Tew posted a challenging total.

Lawrence Brock bowled Henry Woodward for a duck as the visitors started well.

After a brief recovery, Tew then took three Dinton wickets with the score on 49, Brock again and Joe Thomas, twice, ripping through the middle order.

When Thomas picked up his third wicket on 58, the game was Tew’s for the taking.

But Amin, Burrows and Brooker held firm, as Tew’s advantage at the top was cut to 18 points as rivals Shipton beat Datchet.
