Oxfordshire motorcycle ace Bradley Smith had great ride race to finish fifth at in the Italian MotoGP Mugello yesterday.
The Monster Tech3 Yamaha rider moved up into sixth place in the championship standings in front of teammate Cal Crutchlow who crashed out while lying fifth.
Jorge Lorenzo secured his third successive MotoGP win.
The 28-year-old two-time world champion beat pole-sitter Andrea Iannone and championship leader Valentino Rossi, who finished third.
Defending champion Marc Marquez, fourth in the standings, crashed out.
Lorenzo is now six points behind Rossi in the standings.
