CARTERTON Town A can officially celebrate their Witney & District FA Premier Division title success after rivals West Witney were denied the opportunity to equal their goal difference.

West Witney needed to beat Witney Royals by an unlikely 17 clear goals to retain their Premier Division crown.

However, the away side were unable to field a team, meaning that Witney were awarded the points but not the goals they desperately needed.

In Division 2, the race for second place will go to the wire after Kirtlington’s 3-1 win at Bampton United handed them the initiative.

Sid Ashley netted from the penalty spot for the hosts.

However, a Shane Probitts brace and a Ross Grey effort were enough to move the away side up to second.

They are now level on points with third-placed Carterton Rangers, who Kirtlington host in their final game on Saturday.

Chipping Norton Res stole the second Division 3 promotion spot from under the noses of Minster Lovell Res with a 7-1 thrashing of Tower Hill.

Matt Chadwick smashed in a five-timer, while Connor Ladbrooke and Matt Smith found the net.

Adam Townsend, Ash Overton, Ashley Keenan and Sam Bowers all scored to give Division 4 champions Tower Hill Res a comprehensive 4-1 victory at home to Eynsham SSC Res.

Jamie Hewitt scored Eynsham’s consolation.

Wychwood Forest cemented third place and a potential promotion spot after a convincing 3-0 win over Milton.

Darren Davenport, Ryan Clements and Kevin Wishart all found the back of the net for the visitors.

Doubles from Gary Jones and Darryl Potter, as well as efforts from Mark Clement and Cameron Grain, gave Charlbury Town Res a 6-3 victory at home to Chadlington Res.

David Austin, Matt North and Charlie White replied in vain for the away side.

Tower Hill retained the Supplementary Cup courtesy of a 3-1 win over Chipping Norton Town Res.

Murray Cox put Tower in front and Joe Brown doubled the lead when his cross-cumshot evaded everyone and sailed into the net.

Chippy pulled one back through Matt Smith just before the break, but Tower Hill sealed it 15 minutes from time when Jamie Goodwin fired home a penalty after a foul on Cox.

Division 1 champions Bourton Rovers added the Junior Cup to their trophy cabinet with a thrilling 5-2 win over Ducklington Res after extra time.

Perry Tinson twice levelled during the 90 minutes to keep Ducklington in the game.

He first cancelled out Dan Smith’s opener from the penalty spot.

And he sent the tie into extra time when he levelled the match at 2-2 after Connor Teague had restored Bourton’s lead.

But Ducklington had no answer in extra time.

Teague netted his second and Adam Webley went on to score twice as Bourton triumphed.

Hailey are the new holders of the Fred Ford Cup, thanks to a 2-0 win over Spartan Rangers.

The victory comes eight years after they last lifted the trophy.

Jake Wood and Luke Manning scored the vital goals.
