Callum McNish scored in the last minute to secure North Leigh a dramatic 3-2 victory at Clevedon Town on Saturday.

Three goals in a crazy three-minute spell early in the first half saw the home side take a half-time lead in this Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West clash.

But in a second half dominated by the Millers, they restored parity early on and grabbed that late winner.

On a hard, bumpy surface, North Leigh started brightly but were shocked after nine minutes when Clevedon’s Ben Bament shot past keeper Matt Bulman.

However, North Leigh equalised within in a minute as Jon Else crossed to the far post where Jamie Cook tapped home.

Two minutes later Clevedon were awarded a penalty, following a foul by Andy Caton on Joe Swift and Bament made no mistake from the spot.

Two minutes into the second half, Leigh were level, McNish scoring from close range at the far post from a Kieran Sanders corner.

With Aaron Woodley on for the injured Else, Leigh used both flanks as attacking options. but the stubborn home defence withstood wave after wave of attacks.

Midway through the half manager Mark Gee brought on Morgan Williams to freshen up the attack.

The home defence was eventually broken as Woodley slipped the ball to Cook.

He took the ball down the left wing and centred to the far post where McNish had a simple tap-in to win the game for the Millers.
