WORLD Cup winner Mike Catt was on hand to pass on some top tips to Oxford Harlequins’ stars of the future this week.

Catt, who won the Webb Ellis Cup with England in 2003 and is now their attacking coach, visited the club’s Marston Ferry Road base in his ambassadorial role with Clydesdale Bank.

The 43-year-old put Quins’ under 11s, 12s and 13s through their paces for more than an hour, before answering questions about his glittering career.

He was quizzed on what it was like to be tackled by New Zealand legend Jonah Lomu and if it was scary playing in a World Cup final.

Under 11s coach Will Allen said: “Being able to bring a rugby legend of Mike’s stature to the club to pass on his experience to our young players is a great boost for us.

“They will always remember the day when they shared a rugby pitch with a World Cup winner.

“I hope it inspires them to go on and achieve everything they want in the game.

“We have appreciated having such a sporting hero come to the club.”
