Carterton Town A face a nervous wait to secure the Witney & District FA Premier Division title after a comfortable 3-0 win at Hanborough, writes ANTHONY BARLOW.

Jason Lonsdale (2) and Wes Christian ensured Carterton extended their lead at the top to nine points.

Second-placed West Witney could equal their tally if they win their remaining three games, but need to make up an 18-goal deficit.

The result also sealed Hanborough’s relegation from the Premier Division.

FC Nomads went down from Division 1 after letting slip a two-goal advantage to lose 3-2 at Aston.

The visitors were on course to retain their status after Darren Craig and Chris Lawrence put them two goals up, but Aston struck back through Benji Sunblad, Warren Austin and Matt Smith.

Combe confirmed their promotion to the Premier Division with a 1-1 draw at home to North Leigh A.

Ryan Maskery netted for the visitors, but Ethan Penney’s goal ensured Combe secured second place.

Chadlington were beaten 7-0 by champions Bourton Rovers, courtesy of an Adam Webley hat-trick, Connor Teague (2), Sam Mattock and Craig Gilson.

Carterton Town B completed their season with a 3-1 win over Ducklington Res.

Adam Harris, Lee Manly and Dan Solis all registered for the hosts, while Dan Smith reciprocated.

Relegated FC Mills ended their miserable season with a 4-1 defeat to Witney Wanderers.

Gary Atkinson scored a hat-trick and Jason Basson also struck, with Steve Lyons netting a consolation.

Spartan Rangers Res were crowned Division 3 champions with a 4-1 home win over Bourton Rovers Res.

Jamie Stroud scored for the visitors, but a Dave Cross brace and goals from Steve Jenkins and Harry Thompson saw Spartan take the title.

It took penalties to separate holders West Witney and Brize Norton in their Senior Cup quarter-final, following a 3-3 draw after extra time.

Pavel Bronk scored two and Rob Hook also netted for Brize, but goals from Dan King, Karl Austin and Chris Hirons took the game to penalties.

And it was Witney who held their nerve.

Minster Lovell eased through with an 8-2 hammering of Ducklington.

Ryan Colleton netted twice for the visitors, but it was little consolation.

Connor Tinsley, Stephen Burke and Sebastian White bagged braces, while Nathan Harris and Cody Davies also got in on the act.
