Didcot Town joint manager Ian Concannon said his side are undaunted by high-flying Evesham United, who visit Draycott Engineering Loop Meadow tomorrow, writes MATTHEW BRUCE.

The Railwaymen have three games to make up the fivepoint deficit separating them from the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West play-off places.

But they face a stern test at home to third-placed Evesham, who are unbeaten in their last 12 games.

“They’re the league’s form team, but I think we have nothing to fear,” said Concannon.

“We have another chance to close in on the play-offs this weekend and we just have to go out there and win.

“That’s our remit, win the game.”

Midfielder Andy Ballard is expected to return for Didcot, having been unavailable for Monday’s local derby against North Leigh.

Wantage Town’s safety could be effectively assured if they pick up a point or more at Sholing.

The Alfredians are eight points clear of Bishops Cleeve in the final relegation spot, with nine points still available for both sides – though Wantage have a far superior goal difference.

Even if they lose at Sholing, Wantage’s status could be confirmed if Cleeve fail to beat already-relegated Bashley tomorrow.

Centre back Andy Caton will miss North Leigh’s trip to Shortwood United after suffering a concussion.

But Jamie Cook returns to the side after missing Easter Monday’s 2-2 draw with Didcot.
