SYDNEY: The IQ of failed entrepreneur Alan Bond dropped after he

underwent open-heart surgery last year, his lawyer told a court in

Sydney, Australia. Anthony Howard said that Bond's intelligence quotient

had dropped to 90 from 150 and some psychiatrists had found brain damage

which led to memory loss and speech problems. Howard was seeking an

adjournment of an examination by Bond's trustees set to begin next

Tuesday. However, Federal Court Judge Ian Sheppard said he was perplexed

why British-born Bond, who declared himself bankrupt in 1992, thought he

could not still give reliable evidence in court.
