DEFENDING champion Steven Sheard turned on the style to beat Chris Bateman 2-0 in the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford League men’s individual quarter-final at Headington Conservative Club.
Sheard reeled off a break of 9,550 in the aggregate score of 15,330-6,040.
In the Captains’ Cup quarter-final at the same venue, Craig Mace went through with an 8,500-7,120 victory over Pauline Withey.
Ian Moss defeated John Patey 15,650-4,120 in the last eight of the Premier Section individual competition.
Vikings trio of Bob Allsworth, Mike Jones and Pete Ewins are through to the last four of the Oxford Threes after beating Masons’ Dave Rose, Alan Lowe and Maxi McDonnell 4-0 at Berinsfield.
Ewins won both of his games, with Allsworth and Jones picking up single wins.
