HOLDERS Long Wittenham Athletic were dumped out of the North Berks Cup in the quarter-finals as hosts Berinsfield romped to a 5-0 victory, writes PHIL ANNETS.

David Murphy and Max Palmer scored two each and Luke Holdsworth was also on target for the hosts.

Kyle Allsworth netted a hat-trick for Saxton Rovers, including a penalty, as they won 6-3 at home to Wallingford Town.

Steve Pitson grabbed two and Wayne Waldron scored the other, whilst Ashley Searle, Elliott Westwood and Tom Davies all registered for Wallingford.

Faringdon Town went down 6-2 at Kintbury Rangers, despite goals from Mike van der Mortel and Dan Oyston.

Charlie Allsop netted four times for the hosts and Tom Mahoney bagged a brace.

Marcham’s War Memorial Cup campaign came to an end at the quarter-final stage as two late goals from Carl Jenner gave hosts Newbury Res a 2-0 win.

In the quarter-finals of the AG Kingham Cup, Faringdon Town Res were comfortable 4-1 winners at home to Lambourn Sports Res.

David Owens, Chris Kershaw, Christian Wills and Jamie Halls all scored for the hosts, with Seb Buck hitting the consolation for Lambourn.

There was also cup success for Faringdon Town A as a Paul Smith double handed them a 2-0 success over Stanford in the Vale Res in the League Cup quarter-finals.

It was a much closer affair between Long Wittenham Athletic Res and Ardington & Lockinge Res, with the former eventually winning 3-2 after extra time.

Nick Wilkins and Jamie Wilkins scored for the visitors, but two goals from Andy Sutherland and one from Ieuan Morgan won the tie for Wittenham.

In Division 1, bottom side Watlington Town were beaten 4-3 at Drayton.

Jake Walters, Pete Ashman and Chris Roberts scored their goals, but Drayton won the match courtesy of a Carl Bolton brace and goals from Pat Walsh and Ashley Seamark.

Division 2 leaders Stanford in the Vale suffered their second successive home league defeat, losing 2-1 to promotion rivals East Hendred.

Kieran McCarthy scored for the home side but goals from Gareth Cooper and Ben Sutton gave Hendred a vital win.

Steventon were beaten 3-2 at home to Coleshill United, who won it thanks to goals from Elliott Corp, Adam Sly and Shane Blake.

In-form Hanney United held Division 3 leaders Turnpike Sports to a 3-3 draw.

Richard Hughes, James Bishop and Steve Weeks were all on target for the visitors to cancel out strikes from Ashley Beckett, Richard Meikle and Gary Dredge for Turnpike.

Grove Rangers maintained their push for promotion with a 3-1 win at Union Street thanks to strikes by Tim Haines, Matt Cramp and Josh Ward.
