DANNY Hylton says he has found a system this season which is helping him take penalties with confidence.
Oxford United’s top scorer netted for the sixth time from the spot this season in last weekend’s 3-0 win against Mansfield Town.
The 26-year-old’s first penalty came against the Stags in August and afterwards he came up with a way to remove any doubt when put on the spot.
“I always tell myself the day before a game, ‘if I get a penalty I’m going to go left or right’,” he said.

Latest United news:
“That way I’m not in two minds.
“The keeper (last weekend) was trying a bit of mind games showing me that way, it gets in your head, but that’s why I tell myself the night before.
“I’ve done it since my first penalty this season – I’ve never been the taker before.”
It means at some stage today Hylton will make a decision over where to aim if United are awarded a spot kick at Portsmouth tomorrow.
His only blemish this season came against Wycombe Wanderers in November.
After scoring a penalty earlier in the game, he blazed the second well over.
He said: “I just wish I could go back and take it again because I couldn’t believe I kicked it over.”
