OXFORD Hawks gave leaders Old Georgians a run for their money before succumbing to a late 3-2 away defeat in the South League Division on Saturday.

The home side led 1-0 at half-time through the league’s top scorer James Tindall.

Hawks rallied and Kit Cutter equalised following good work from Ben Wilson.

Georgians regained the lead, but within a minute Cutter was bundled off the ball, earning a penalty flick for Hawks which Will Phillips netted.

The match was decided two minutes from time, when Georgians converted a penalty of their own.

Oxford Hawks 2nd, the Middlesex Berks, Bucks & Oxon Regional 1 leaders, landed a 5-2 success at home to Staines 2nd, thanks to James Ward (2), Matt Janes, Ben Roe and Louis Yates.

Wallingford made it five victories out of five in 2015 with a 2-0 victory away to Oxford 2nd thanks to goals from Tom Arnott and Tim Chamberlain Witney played against nine men at times, but still went down 3-1 at home to Milton Keynes 2nd in Regional 2.

Milton Keynes, who led 3-0 at the break, suffered from two yellow cards after the break and conceded a short corner, which Harry Swift converted.
