Oxford United are likely to hand debuts to full backs Joe Skarz and Richard Brindley at Stevenage this afternoon.
The new signings are expected to slot straight into the line-up, which would mean Jon Meades and Sam Long make way.
Tareiq Holmes-Dennis is available after recovering from a minor knee problem.
He will be competing for the left back slot with Skarz, but head coach Michael Appleton raised the possibility both could play at the same time.
He said: “Without a shadow of a doubt, we’ve done it with Tareiq earlier in the season.
“He’s the type of player who can play in various roles, but we want competition for places anyway.”
John Campbell will not feature as talks continue between United and Jarrow Roofing about turning his loan move into a longer deal.
Stevenage are without two players who suffered serious injuries this week, but boss Graham Westley would not name the pair when quizzed.
