Oxfordshire's Connor Ferguson achieved his highest finish in a national 12 and under event by reaching the final of the LTA Grade 2 winter tour in Nottingham.

The promising youngster, from Drayton, lost 6-4, 6-2 to top seed, Jack Pinnington Jones, from Kent, to consolidate his sixth place in the national rankings. He is now just 100 points from reaching the top five.

Meanwhile, Long Wittenham's Alexis Canter, 16, lost 6-0, 6-4 to Jack Van Sylke of Canada in the flagship Grade A ITF junior event in Miami.

Harrison Ridge won all three of matches for Oxfordshire in the latest round of the Under 16 County Championship.

Ridge shone as Oxon’s boys beat both Norfolk and Northants 3-1, but lost by the same margin to Cambridgeshire.
