Bicester Blue Fins finished second in the final gala of the National Arena West Midlands League Premier Division at Worcester.

It saw the club end their first top-flight campaign in eighth.

There was victory in the 4x50m medley and freestyle relays for the girls’ age 11 and under team of Lottie Wynne-Jones, Maddy Powell, Alexa-ndra Pluckrose and Eveena Shah.

The boys’ age 15 and under relay quartet of Tom Thornley, Kieran Bird, Callum Laird and Josh Rowland won the 4x50m medley and freestyle races.

Wynne-Jones, 11, won the 50m butterflyand set a new club age group record in the 50m backstroke.

Tom Thornley won the boys’ 15 and under 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke, while Oliver Inness triumphed in the 13-year-old 100m backstroke and 100m butterfly.

Ellie Falkner and Bird also won.

Abingdon Vale retained their place by finishing third.

Gala result: 1 Club Hereford 206 pts, 2 Bicester 193, 3 Abingdon Vale 179.
