Oxfordshire's Lucy Brown bowed out of the Aegon British Tour Masters after losing to Somerset’s Kasia Pitak in the quarter-finals in Nottingham.

Having progressed through two rounds, Brown, from Elsfield, near Oxford, won the first set against Pitak 6-4.

However, Brown lost the second 6-4 and trailed 4-1 in the final set before injury forced her to concede.

Meanwhile, Abingdon’s Matilda Mutavdzic lost 4-1, 4-2 to Leah Gonzales-Edwards, from Surrey, in the quarter-finals of the 10 & under national event at Goslings.

Mutavdzic recovered to win her last two games to finish eighth nationally.

Meanwhile, Oxford City ladies extended their lead at the top of Division 1 of the Thames Valley Winter League with an 8-0 home win over Blewbury.

Woodstock drew 4-4 at Oxford Sports to stay in second place.

In Men’s Division 1, Bicester won 6-2 at Abingdon B, despite dropping their first sets of the season.
