Didcot Town joint manager Ian Concannon admits he is happy to accept a below par performance if they continue their fine run at home to Cinderford Town tonight, writes Matthew Bruce.

The Railwaymen are 12 games unbeaten in the Southern League Division 1 South & West and Concannon feels results are more important than performances.

“We haven’t played great in the last couple of games, but we’ve dug in and we’re hard to beat,” he said.

“We just have to give everything we’ve got in every game and if we’re beaten by a better side on the day then we’ll hold our hands up.

“We’re winning ugly at the moment and that’s the sign of a good side.”

Josh Baines (ill) remains the only doubt for Didcot, who are likely to name an unchanged squad.

Wantage Town boss Daniel Barry urged his players to take their opportunity to climb the table as they travel to fellow strugglers Clevedon Town.

Barry is still waiting for his first victory since taking over in October, but is hopeful he can get off the mark tonight.

He said: “We have got to approach the game with a positive mentality and it’s important we start well and try to be confident in the final third to create chances.

“If we want to move up the league, it’s vital we get some points and three will result in us going ahead of Clevedon and up a few places in the league.”

Karl Roberts returns to the squad, but Nick Thorne and Tai Hulbert-Thomas miss out due to work commitments.

Jake Johns requires a fitness test after picking up a groin injury on Saturday.

In the Premier Division, Banbury United entertain high-flying Corby Town as they search for a first league win in seven games.

Midfielder Darius Browne returns from holiday, but the Puritans are without defender Tom Fishwick due to a broken metatarsal.
